Dr. Qingyao Shi

Medical Director
Dr. Qingyao Shi is a National Certified OM in the United States and a Pennsylvania-licensed acupuncturist. Dr. Shi earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Institute of Acupuncture, Academy of TCM, Beijing. She is a medical doctor (MD) in Western medicine and trained at Bethune University Medical School in China. She has 18 years of hospital experience.
Some of her career highlights include combining Eastern and Western medicine and introducing acupuncture and Chinese medicine to mainstream medicine in the United States. Dr. Shi was the first person to develop the Oriental medicine treatment for Interstitial Cystitis in the US. Her publication “Chinese Herbal Medicine for the Treatment of IC” has become one of the standard patient educational materials of the National ICA.
Dr. Shi is a former commissioner of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) (2000-2004).
Dr. Marvin La
Licensed Acupuncturist
Dr. Marvin La is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Temple University. Dr. Marvin is a certified personal trainer, and his experience working alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, and chiropractors has shaped his holistic approach by combining Eastern and Western perspectives to promote health, well-being, and balance.
Dr. Marvin specializes in pain management and sports injuries, and supports clients with a variety of internal problems including insomnia, GI issues, and respiratory issues, as well as neurological conditions and emotional health. Dr. Marvin specializes in facial rejuvenation.

Cheryl Damico
Office Manager
Cheryl Damico brings an eclectic background to her work. She originally started with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and worked as a social worker for several years. She also owned an event planning company. Cheryl has since returned to her studies and is pursuing a degree in nonprofit organizations and grantwriting.
